A Pole Home is a Polynesian style home built with large vertical poles that serve as the frame and foundation of the house.

A normal stick frame house is built foundation, floor, walls, then roof. Pole homes are unique because they are built almost in reverse. The poles are set first as the foundation, but then the roof is built before the floors and walls.

There are many benefits to this style of building:

  • They are extremely stable and can withstand anything mother nature throws its way.

  • They are easily built on sloping, rocky, sandy landscapes that are usually a headache to contractors.

  • Therefore, they can be built with as little disruption to the land as possible. Saving time and money while preserving the beauty of the natural landscape.

  • Since the poles bear all the weight of the house instead of the walls, future extensions and changes to the layout are easily done.
